Carla Jehle - Owner
Carla has been involved in small business administration and bookkeeping throughout her life. Growing up in her family’s shoemaking and retail business in Germany meant “hands on” from the beginning. What it takes to run your own small business is in her bones.
Carla’s love for numbers led her to pursue an apprenticeship in Business Administration in the air travel industry after she left secondary school. Her work experience ranges from Accounts and Human Resource Management in the corporate sector to administration, bookkeeping consulting and teaching through a variety of businesses and social enterprises.
Sound Choice Business Support, started by Carla in 2012, initially carried out bookkeeping and administration tasks in the land development, building, trades and horticultural industry.
Twelve years on, Carla has developed herself into a competent, caring and trusted partner to small business owners in the Top of the South and New Zealand wide.
Helping you make your finances simple, clear, and easy to manage is part of her wholistic approach to drive sustainable business success and growth with a strong focus on detail and deadlines, which is crucial in small business.
Carla’s greatest strength is her capacity to learn and build relationships. Developing new skills, coupled with her desire for empowering people and ongoing improvement of systems and efficiencies is specifically aimed to fit the unique needs of her clients.
Carla's most recent passion is an ongoing training program for small business owners who want to upskill their bookkeeping and accounting knowledge to do their own books. She teaches essential bookkeeping skills and how to set up bookkeeping processes in small business. This includes ongoing support for people who work for themselves and don’t consider themselves a ‘numbers
person’.
Outside of work Carla loves spending time with her community, family and friends, gardening, cooking and preserving homegrown food, tramping and swimming as well as music, dance and meaningful community building activities which foster resilience, connection and healing.
Carla has a certified Green Badge membership with the Institute of Certified New Zealand Bookkeepers (ICNZB) and won the ICNZB “Sustainable Business & Cloud Innovation Award 2017”.

Lenise Mazzucchelli - Bookkeeper
Lenise joined Sound Choice in November 2018 after having been ten years in office and financial management roles with local retailers as well as Tiko Wastewater (Nelson) and Boysenberries NZ (Nelson). In 2017, Lenise trained in MANGO, an online management system for H&S, Food Safety and Worksafe compliance.
She implements and manages online compliance systems for growers in the region. Lenise also holds the role of Communication and Administrative Assistant with Boysenberries NZ. She grew up in a horticultural family in Appleby and from the age of ten would be responsible for the wages for the orchard staff.
Lenise’s greatest strength is her desire to provide clients with a clear path forward and easy to understand information so they can focus on the success of their business. She is passionate about working with clients to find the best solution and work flow processes.
Lenise is responsible for bookkeeping and administration tasks for our clients.
Outside of work, Lenise enjoys her young family, as well as long walks with her Rhodesian Ridgeback and spending time enjoying the great Nelson/Tasman outdoors.
Lenise has a certified Black Badge membership with the Institute of Certified New Zealand Bookkeepers.
